Date Sunday 10th of September
Show Mr. Bimbamboozle, Punch and Judy

Christopher Somerville (Mr. Bimbamboozle) is North Wales' best loved and most experienced children's entertainer and has been associated for many years with the Harlequin puppet theatre.

The show starts and ends with magic which involves a great deal of audience participation.

The puppet performance is full of hilarity and excitement as Mr. Punch gets up to his usual naughtiness, is frightened by the crocodile, and is finally apprehended, with the help of the children, by Mr. Policeman and is escorted from the scene.

The King’s Got Donkey’s Ears!

Good King Orik goes for a nice walk in the woods, but comes out with big furry ears like a donkey! He hides away in his tower, hoping that no one will discover the secret hidden beneath his hat. Scruffibus, his faithful dog, decides that something must be done!
Widdershins’ version of this well-known tale is retold with the company’s unique blend of puppetry, storytelling and original music composed by Martin Thornton.

The Bedfordshire based Puppet Theatre Company has been one of the successes of previous editions of our International Puppet Festival with such shows as ‘Three Billy Goats Gruff & Other Furry Tails ‘.

Show The Emperor’s Festivities

This immensely amusing performance recreates the circumstances of the creation and original performance of Mozart’s little opera “The Theatre Director”.
The theatre is a miniature replica of baroque theatres in which the carved wooden marionettes and other elements of staging perfectly recreate the ambience of the period. The overall comic atmosphere is complemented by subtitles used in the same way as in silent films

Prague-based, Karromato, was founded in 1997 and works in the tradition of classical Central European marionette shows. They emphasise visual communication through the puppet and language is of little importance.
