Christopher Somerville (Mr. Bimbamboozle) is North Wales' best loved and most experienced children's entertainer and has been associated for many years with the Harlequin puppet theatre.

The show starts and ends with magic which involves a great deal of audience participation.

The puppet performance is full of hilarity and excitement as Mr. Punch gets up to his usual naughtiness, is frightened by the crocodile, and is finally apprehended, with the help of the children, by Mr. Policeman and is escorted from the scene.

The Beginning of Astonishment (O Princípio do Espanto)

  

 

A puppet is amazed by the things that he sees. He fills with desires, falls in love, celebrates, fails, and loses control. He thinks he manages the objects around him, but he knows nothing about the man in charge of his simplest movement.
The man believes he is in control of the puppet he has built, but both are ignorant of what is really behind them.

The Beginning of Astonishment, conceived and performed by João Araujo (artistic direction, lighting and sound Luiz Andrade), was chosen as the best Brazilian performance at the international puppet festival of Belo Horizonte in June 2004.
